DESIGN BRIEF
The 20 Rectangle Design Project challenged me to design something out of cardboard using exactly 20 rectangles and one color. I had the choice of creating an environmental design, an object design, an information design, or an experience design. Environmental design is the design of environments including architecture, landscape, urban planning, interior design, facility design, exhibit design, commercial and recreational spaces, and any place where we live, work, or play. Object design is sometimes referred to as industrial or product design. It includes design of products, packaging, furniture, appliances, transportation, clothing and any of the thousands of other things we use every day. Information Design is sometimes referred to as communication design, graphic design, and information architecture. It includes design for magazines, books, web sites, computer graphics, video, film, television, advertising, and anytime information or ideas are being communicated visually. Experience Design is sometimes called interaction or event design. It includes designing occasions in which the user interacts with or experiences an event. This includes anything from interactive museum exhibits, festivals, special events, theme parks, shopping malls, video and computer games, interactive web sites, CD-ROMS, and any other event where the user becomes part of the experience.
OUTCOME
I decided on building something in the object design category because I felt it would be easiest. After going through a few different ideas, I settled on constructing a locker. Built to resemble the lockers I use at school, my locker took 3rd place overall and 3rd place in the class.
TAKEAWAYS
-My biggest takeaway with this project was time management. I did not procrastinate on it at all and ended up turning one of my best projects ever.
-My other takeaway was how important measuring is. Multiple times I had to go back and re-cut because I messed up my measurements.

In all it's glory, my locker rests in the display case in the S-4 hallway.
